We are currently looking for an order picker to join our Lachine warehouse. In this role, the warehouse employee will be required to perform an array of duties which may include receiving and processing incoming inventory and materials, picking and filling inventory orders, packing and shipping orders, or the management, organization and retrieval of inventory in the warehouse.
**Your main responsibilities will be as follows**:
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area;
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards;
- Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory;
- Prepare parcels for mailing;
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat;
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Wear the proper safety equipment.
- Any other related duties.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
**Skills**:
- Ability to work standing and walking for several hours a day;
- Ability to regularly lift or move loads between 10 and 30 lbs;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate good aptitude in mathematics.
- Time management skills - ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have basic computer skills.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or at least one year of relevant professional experience;
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, an asset;
- Must have experience with merchandise inventories, maintenance of certain equipment and data entry.
