Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker to join our team. As a Youth Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support, guidance, and mentorship to young individuals. Your role will involve creating a safe and nurturing environment where youth can learn, grow, and develop essential life skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage with young individuals in various activities, including educational programs, recreational activities, and group discussions
- Provide emotional support and guidance to youth facing challenges or difficult situations
- Foster positive relationships with youth, their families, and other members of the community
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational programs
- Assist in developing individualized plans for youth with specific needs or goals
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all youth during activities and outings
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment
- Maintain accurate records of each youth's progress, behaviour, and participation

Certifications:

- ASIST
- NVCI
- Mental Health First Aid
- CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Clear Child Abuse/Vulnerable Sector Check Required

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

**Skills**:

- Experience working with at risk youth and First Nation communities is required.
- Experience working from a trauma
- informed perspective is essential
- Understanding of mental health, addictions and other trauma related diagnoses is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively engage with youth of different ages and backgrounds
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with youth
- Excellent organizational skills to plan activities and manage time effectively

We offer competitive compensation packages based on qualifications and experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
