**R&D Trainee** (Pharmaceutical R&D),

**Job Requirements **: Master’s or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or Biochemistry. Current student or recent graduate (last 6 months) from an Alberta post-secondary institution

**Responsibilities**:
**R&D Trainee** will work alongside with other senior scientific staff/management team of the company, with following **Basic Job responsibilities**:
1. To learn and conduct experiments for developing, synthesizing pharmaceutical compounds and their intermediates used in early-stage drug discovery research.

3. To learn and conduct experiments developing, synthesizing Semiochemicals and their intermediates.

4. To learn and monitor progress of organic reactions by using thin layer chromatography techniques.

5. To learn work up procedures for isolating organic compounds resulting from organic reactions.

6. To learn column chromatography purification methods for separation of mixtures of organic compounds.

7. To learn and adapt safe procedures for cleaning glassware “prior to use and after use” in a chemical reaction.

8. To receive training and learn maintenance of laboratory equipment.

9. To receive training in packaging, shipping, receiving of raw materials and finished products.

10. To receive a training in disposal of waste chemicals.

11. To document day-to-day experimental procedures in lab notebook according to company Standard Operating Procedures. (SOP).

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
