- We are seeking skilled land use planners to help deliver the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness' agricultural and rural land use planning policies.
This is your opportunity to contribute to the protection of Ontario's farmlands, farming operations and rural communities through sustainable land use planning.

**About the job**: In this role, you will:
- participate in provincial one-window planning and analyze and prepare provincial policy technical land use planning advice
- participate on inter-agency committees and liaise with partner ministries, municipalities and the public
- provide technical information and represent the ministry at meetings, public forums and before tribunals
**What you bring to the team**:
**Mandatory requirements**:
**Technical knowledge**: You have:
- knowledge of land use planning principles and standards related to agricultural and rural planning
- demonstrated experience with provincial/municipal land use planning processes, policies, guidelines and legislation
**Analytical and problem solving skills**: You have:
- problem solving skills to investigate issues by gathering information, consulting with applicable sources, conducting studies and developing appropriate solutions based on analytical findings and evidence
- ability to analyze emerging issues and trends, and provide senior management with advice and materials to make informed decisions
**Communication and interpersonal skills**: You have:
- well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills to represent the ministry before the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal and other tribunals; and lead/participate in workshops and training sessions for a variety of clients
- interpretation skills to explain legislation, policy and guideline requirements to non-technical audiences
- written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence for management, staff and clients
- consultation and conflict resolution skills to facilitate consensus from a diverse range of interest groups with opposing viewpoints
- ability to mediate and negotiate complex issues to navigate competing interests and priorities
**Project management skills**: You have:
- project management skills to manage multiple projects and coordinate project activities
- ability to work with mínimal supervision
