Quai du Vin Estate Winery is a boutique winery, surrounded by picturesque grounds and operating inside a charming vintage-style facility in Sparta, Ontario along Lake Erie's pastoral North Shore.

Reporting to the Retail and Hospitality Co-ordinator, this position is a full-time permanent role and you'll be expected to maintain and help increase sales to meet projected targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the on-site lead, you would be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the retail store, the on-site serving outlets, farmers market and the direct delivery of online purchases.

Enthusiastic about sharing your wine knowledge to all retail staff in a fun and friendly style.

Contribute to building a culture of exceptional customer service amongst the retail team.

Actively engaging and interacting with all visitors of the winery.

Educating guests through their tasting experience offering insight about the winery, wine making and our wines.

Ensuring that all opening, closing and cleaning procedures are completed accordingly.

Assisting in monthly inventory of wine, merchandise and supplies.

Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of merchandise, supplies and glassware.

Managing all on-line orders phone and walk-in inquires.

Maintaining the POS system, menu and screens for price and menu changes and special events as required.

Assist with the preparation and execution of additional events and experiences as required.

Resolving any customer complaints and concerns.

Assist in training retail staff upselling and cross selling techniques to meet weekly and monthly sales targets.

Ensuring COVID protocols, safety codes, company safety and security policy are met and complying with local health protocols.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of restaurant, winery/brewery, retail management experience that include supervising a small team, meeting sales targets and inventory controls

Excellent guest sevice skills

Available to work most weekends, holidays and have a flexible schedule

Excited to work at a variety of different venues (on-site experiences, off-site events, trade shows, farmer's markets)

Ability to take initiative, self-motivated and organized. Can multi-task, keep busy and works well in a small team environment.

Strong base knowledge of wine an asset

Serving experience: 2+ year required

Ability to lift/carry 35lb wine boxes, stand and move for an 7+hour shift

Smart Serve Certificate and aged 19+: required

G-licensed driver

First Aid Certificate an asset

Ontario Food Handler Course an asset
