**TEMPORARY CONTRACT POSITION**

**We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.**

**Most weeks will be from 9-5, but occasional weeks will require wo**rking from 3-11pm.**

**WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**

Reporting to the Team Lead of Interdisciplinary Spectroscopy, the Soil Lab Assistant will work closely with members of our Soil Science, Robotics and Machine Learning teams.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Prepare soil samples by filling, emptying and cleaning sample trays.
- Maintain a clean and organized working area.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in good order, informing team leads of any equipment requiring adjustments.
- Maintain logs and records of the soil sample collection progress.
- Conduct soil sample measurements using local pre-set software.
- Ensure sample integrity by working in an organized manner, closely following detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.
- Dispose of soil samples according to regulations.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- General knowledge of chemistry, biology or soil science is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- High attention to detail.
- Familiarity with a programming language is beneficial, but not required.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to work as part of a small team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
