**Smithbilt Hats Inc.** is hiring for a **Casual/Part-Time ** **Retail Associate **to join the team

Since 1919, Smithbilt Hats Inc. has been handcrafting custom western hats and fedoras in Calgary and has been home to the infamous White Hat. We are known for our commitment to Western values and traditions, and stand by all our products, offering full cleaning and restoration services To date, we are committed to preserving the values and traditions of Western heritage by placing the highest emphasis on quality and service.

**As a Retail Associate, you will be accountable for**:

- Positively represent our brand and advocate for the quality of our products.
- Using your previous sales experience to recommend and sell products.
- Having a deep understanding of the products and services being sold to effectively answer questions or inquiries from customers.
- Striving to meet and exceed sales targets and performance goals.
- Providing excellent customer service and greeting customers as they walk into the store.
- Keeping track of the inventory by restocking shelves, doing inventory counts, and ordering stocks as needed
- Assisting in creating, planning, and implementing marketing strategies for both store and employee events.
- Assisting in developing the store's social media strategy.
- Creating social media content for various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc. while ensuring content is up to the company standard to maintain a positive brand image.
- Utilizing different social media platforms to promote in-store events and promotions.
- Processing customer transactions at the cash register or point of sales (POS) system.
- Maintain cleanliness of the production area, showroom, boardroom, and washrooms.
- Other duties as assigned.

**To be successful in this role, you must have**:

- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Previous customer service and retail sales experience
- Event planning and hosting skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Time management skill
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Day range:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB T2G 3E9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
