Provides procurement expertise and leadership to the strategic buyers group and support the procurement and supply of materials, parts, and services for the organization. Consolidation, standardization and leverage of the high value spend categories (Strategic) across two countries, five business units: Cement, CBM RMX & Aggregates, Prairie RMX & Aggregates Tendering and negotiating annual supply contracts with external vendors ranging from $30k to $50 million, multi-year, cross BU spend [consistent with procurement policies, best practices and audit compliance]. Leads 2 strategic buyers [coach, guide, develop, check and ensures audit compliance]. All tenders involve iterative negotiations to save 1-10% typically. Ensure DPO and supply chain finance targets are met in liaison with Finance **WHAT WILL YOU DO?** - Responsible for Local Procurement activities within Cement Operations in Canada and US. - Manages local procurement buyers to fulfill plant needs daily as we as the yearly shut down needs. - Leverages technology to further deploy eProcurement through Ariba Catalogs - Further integrates the business and shared services to improve payment performance and vendor relationship - Develops & maintains Performance KPI's to manage transaction backlog for P2P process - Negotiates commercial, technical and quality conditions with vendors and generate Ariba Catalogs to improve the costs/benefits of the supply requirements and team's efficiencies - Manages local agreements, ensuring that established objectives are met, and/or recommend adjustments, as required - Partners with operation and maintenance teams on planning activities - Works closely with the Stockroom Coordinators supporting the MRP process and inventory. Maintain accurate lead time and cost in SAP for each critical inventory material. - Manages all P2P transactions related to local/spot purchasing for Cement business units - Supports accounts payable on payment troubleshooting and vendor reconciliation - Ensures working capital strategy by managing Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and supply chain finance targets - Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. Identify and recommend improvements and customizations to the SAP system to ensure the system meets required business needs - Leads projects to increase automation or improve efficiencies - Drives standardization in the procure to pay process - Networking and linking internal, and external, stakeholders to achieve full compliance with corporate requirements, maximum coherence & execution excellence - while capturing immediate, as well as long term benefits [i.e., Savings and performance] for VCNA. - Manages a team (coach, guide, develop, check and ensures audit compliance) - Market research, vendor relations - Miscellaneous & Expansion Projects **WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?** - Skills - Negotiation [capex, parts, services across numerous external industries], analytics, communication, decisiveness, vision, relationship management, change management, tech savvy, cross cultural, global teamwork.
