**Wastewater Plant Operator**

A leader in environmentally conscious water management solutions needs a hands-on, experienced, mechanically-oriented Treatment Plant Operator/ Technician to operate and maintain 1-2 water treatment plants in the lower mainland. Must have previous experience working in water treatment or waste treatment facility in Canada.

This position is the right hand person to the Field Manager. Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, strong customer service and communication skills dealing with clients and engineers strong verbal communication skills to operate and actively maintain 1-2 water treatment plants in the lower mainland. Good driving history and valid driver's license is a requirement.

Stormtec is a specialty water management company that makes the lives of their customers easier by taking on their water management challenges. When we do it right, no one notices us doing our work - not our customers, not the communities we work in, not the fish in the local streams. Except that our customers realize we don’t have the ongoing headache of water management. We provide water management solutions for sediment control, contaminated water treatment, dewatering and bypass solutions in the construction industry.

We’ve doubled in size over the last three years and expects to double again. We have a young, progressive team of 70 staff, led by an ambitious President & CEO who is leading the company through unprecedented but sustainable growth.

People who succeed at this job will:

- Operate and successfully maintain one-two, small-medium size water treatment plants in the lower mainland.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills when dealing with consultants, engineers, and clients
- Previous experience with all hand tools. Diagnose and repair equipment & systems
- Set up and test that our equipment (pumps) are working as it should
- Check pH & turbidity levels to ensure levels are within site requirements and take water samples as required.
- Keep the worksite clean, organized and sanitary regarding waste water bacteria.
- Learn and use computerized system programs and collect data and accurately interpret historical data
- Complete field reports and maintain accurate inventory tracking of all equipment in transit and on site.
- Be unafraid of getting dirty and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs of gear and equipment.

**OTHER STUFF**

There’s no doubt that you’ll face some challenges; but you will be up for it because of your keen interest in the industry.

You have working knowledge of water chemistry, storm water/sediment control treatment equipment and have strong time management and organizational skills to complete all tasks scheduled for that week. Lastly, you are willing to undertake study to obtain EOCP Level 1 Waste Water Plant Operator.

We have a career ladder for Field Technicians, based on knowledge and skills; do well, acquire more skills and proficiency and you can position yourself for career progression as other Field Tech roles become available. A valid Class 5 Driver’s license is a must.

The workweek is Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
