**Job Description (Factory Worker)**
**Location: Port Alberni, BC**
**Qualifications**:
Must possess a **Bridge Watch Rating Certificate**, Valid Transport Canada Seafarer’s Marine Medical, STCW Basic Safety Certificate, Basic First Aid, WHMIS 2015, and Ship Security Certificate.
Must have previous experience working within the Fishing Industry.
**Duties**:
This position is onboard a Fishing Trawler operating East Coast Canada.
Duties of the position include the following;
- Convert the raw product into a processed, marketable product.
- Sort fish, tend and operate head and gut machines.
- Inspect the products.
- Load and unload freezers.
- Weigh, package and label the product.
- Load supplies on/off ship.
- Sort and identify different species of fish.
- Run various factory fish processing equipment.
- Pack fish into pans.
- Load and unload plate freezers.
- Case-up product into bags.
- Label product.
- Stack product in freezer hold.
- Factory clean up as needed throughout the trip and final end of trip clean up.
- Participate in required safety drills and training.
- Participate in factory safety meetings.
- Quality assurance: all crewmembers must strive to maintain the highest quality of product produced onboard the vessel.
- Abide by all factory rules for HACCP/quality.
**Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration for these positions.**
