We are seeking creative, dynamic, committed professionals to join our team:
Team Manager(s), EDP and ELC Programs
100% Regular, 3 positions available
Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
**Union Exempt Level 6**: $75,000 to $88,200 per annum
Under the direction of the General Manager of Early Learning, the Team Manager is responsible for managing the Extended Day Programs (EDP) and the Infant, Toddler and Preschool Programs (ELC) and program staff at OCDSB sites. Key responsibilities include promoting high quality programs based on ministry pedagogy, current research and best practices;
implementing guidelines and procedures; supervising and coaching program staff, including providing professional development and training; supporting the administration of the registration process; ensuring compliance of legislative and regulatory requirements for licensed Early learning Centres as well as the Extended Day programs and policies.
**Qualifications**:
Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or equivalent and five (5) years’ experience working in an Early Childhood environment, an Early Learning Centre or Day Care is required, including experience in a supervisory role.
Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required
Thorough knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?, Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, The Kindergarten Program, the Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007, Child care and Early Years Act, 2014, Health and Safety requirements and all other associated Ministry regulatory requirements.
Thorough knowledge and adherence to the College of Early Child Educators Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Management skills, including supervising/leading teams, evaluating staff performance
Interpersonal/Communication Skills (oral and writing), including making presentations.
Problem solving skills and ability to deal with parent complaints with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
Written communications skills
Organizational skills, including time management techniques for juggling multiple priorities, deadlines; working under short timelines; and ability to reprioritize when emergencies arise
Using good judgment for decision-making that impacts on the success of the EDP and ELC programs.
Maintains confidentiality of staff and student information and data
Must have access to reliable transportation for travel to school sites
