- Assist Project Team using CAD skills to efficiently develop/revise plan view drawings, cross sections, borehole logs & details for various geotechnical/environmental projects with guidance from the Project Manager;
- Tasks will include geo-referencing existing drawings or aerial photographs of existing plans or figures;
- Development of plan view drawings based on GPS coordinates collected in the field;
- Perform calculations, analysis, and computation of measurements on field survey data;
- Import and process field data and provide calculations to field staff;
- Calculate boundary and intersections from field surveys;
- Prepare grading designs for rural lots;
- Prepare erosion and sediment control and construction staging designs;
- Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the completion of the project under the direction of a Project Manager;
- Ability to resolve and/or communicate any technical issues that may arise;
- Ability to occasionally assist with field related tasks considered an asset;
- Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices;
- Perform other duties as assigned by Project Managers or Supervisor.
**Skills and Qualifications**
- Educational background in a relevant discipline (i.e. Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting);
- 2+ year of experience AutoCAD drafting and design;
- Knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D software is mandatory;
- Knowledge and experience in ArcGIS;
- Highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic team player;
- Capable of working independently;
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Technical knowledge in civil engineering or environmental discipline would be an asset;
- Solid understanding of provincial and federal regulatory requirements acquired through experience and education;
- Strong technical understanding of field data collection, instrumentation, monitoring and sampling techniques;
- Strong ability to balance immediate and long-term work with varying priorities and deadlines;
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers;
- Exceptional organizational and writing skills;
