**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Under the guidance of the Director, Health and Safety:

- Oversee regional implementation of corporate health and safety program (i.e. for BC/AB, SK/MB or Central/East).
- Facilitate operations’ compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and other legal requirements.
- Ensure assigned audits and inspections are conducted according to requirements.
- Collaborate with shared services and others to ensure health and safety related training is delivered and tracked as required by legislation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety outcomes and organizational performance.
- Contribute to the development of strategies to improve employee and organizational excellence in health and safety
- Supervise the work of the regional Safety Coordinators.

**_Regional Health and Safety Program Implementation_**
- Work collaboratively with others (the Director, health and safety managers and staff, shared services, Human Resources, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the Brandt health and safety program are effectively communicated.
- Advise employees, supervisors, and committees/representatives on health and safety program policies and procedures and on legislation.
- Support program implementation through preventive measures (e.g. inspections, training, communications, meetings, committee engagement, etc.), and corrective measures (e.g. investigation, injury management, etc.).
- In collaboration with committees/representatives, supervisors and employees, corporate safety and others, evaluate and update hazard assessments, training requirements, safe work practices, and safe job procedures, etc.
- Collaborate with others to identify and address gaps in the health and safety program and in its implementation.
- Support the Director in maintaining accurate and complete information related to health and safety program implementation (e.g. required documentation, records, reports and statistics).

**_Regional Compliance_**
- Maintain sound working knowledge of current and relevant health and safety legislation, standards and requirements.
- Advise employees and supervisors on health and safety legislation and standards.
- Monitor compliance with the company's health and safety program, and with relevant legislation.
- Work collaboratively to identify and implement corrective actions.
- As required, cooperate with occupational health and safety officers, inspectors, and others to monitor compliance and correct non-compliance.

**_Regional Audits and Inspections_**
- Ensure routine safety audits and workplace inspections are conducted at each assigned location.
- Maintain auditor certifications by attending training and successfully completing examinations as required.
- Support and help coordinate as required conduct annual internal certification audits (e.g. Certificate of Recognition, etc.).
- Prepare and submit audit documentation in accordance with standards.

**_Regional Training & Communication_**
- Work with others (e.g. Corporate Training, vendors) to ensure selected health and safety training (e.g. forklift operation, overhead crane operation, hazard assessment, etc.) complies with legislation and meets Brandt’s standards.
- Ensure training is delivered and recorded in collaboration with shared services, corporate training staff, vendors, location supervisors, and others.
- Ensure health and safety committee meetings and toolbox talks are completed as required, according to legislation or Brandt’s requirements.
- Ensure communications are professional and meet Brandt standards.

**_Regional Supervision_**
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the assigned Safety Coordinators.
- Assign and align resources to support projects and initiatives.
- Manage performance and professional development of the assigned Safety Coordinators.
- Ensure the assigned Safety Coordinators work collaboratively and effectively with all stakeholders, including with Brandt safety personnel in other regions.
- In collaboration with the Director, set goals for the assigned Safety Coordinators.

**_Regional & Corporate Continuous Improvement_**
- Participate in, monitor and report progress on leading indicators, lagging indicators and health and safety related initiatives (e.g. injury reduction, program improvements, etc.).
- Collaborate with others to ensure the health and safety program is current.
- Lead or participate in cross-company special projects and initiatives.
- Support efforts to analyse and respond to organizational needs.
- Ensure communications and presentations are professional and meet current corporate brand guidelines.
