Firewood Processor Operator

cutting and splitting firewood with firewood processor
- stacking firewood for deliveries and stock
- bagging firewood for deliveries and stock
- running skid steer moving full length trees for processing
- running chainsaw cutting trees to required length for processing
- sharpening chains, maintaining equipment, mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, yard cleanup
- occasionally making deliveries with company vehicle to surrounding areas
- working alone, outdoors, in the elements
- be mechanically inclined, be a proficient problem solver and be able to perform routine maintenance and repairs on multiple types of equipment.
- must have extensive experience operating full size trucks and hauling trailers of various lengths
- have valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
- have own transportation and be willing to travel to job site daily (located 20 minutes south of Rocky Mountain House, Ab, 15 minutes north-west of Caroline Ab. on Highway 22)
- be comfortable working alone in remote location
- be comfortable working around large machinery and moving parts
- have high regard for safe work practices
- have experience running chainsaw safely
- be able to handle daily physically demanding work, be able to bend repeatedly and lift minimum 50lbs repeatedly
- have steel toed work boots

Additional information:

- experience running wood processing equipment and/or skid steer an asset
- no formal education required, safe training will be offered by employer
- must be minimum 18 years old.

**Summary**

As a Firewood Processing Labourer, you will be integral to the efficient operation of our firewood processing yard. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include cutting, splitting, and stacking firewood to meet production targets. We expect you to demonstrate core skills in manual handling, mechanical aptitude and safety practices, while your attention to detail and teamwork will enhance our workflow. Your ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently, along with a strong work ethic, will contribute significantly to our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
