**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting our organization's human resources functions, contributing to the overall success of our workforce and the achievement of business objectives. HRG will lead strategic and tactical activities of people and processes that will provide Human Resources services, direction, and counsel to employees of Omex. In addition, this employee will organize staff training records, recruitment process, including presenting orientation to new hires, complete hourly staff payroll, and perform daily HR duties.
**JOB DUTIES**:
- Complete weekly payroll for hourly staff.
- Maintain all personnel information as prescribed by law.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation and complete all the onboarding steps.
- Ensure employees are updated on new and/or revised policies and procedures.
- Assist with disciplinary actions, performance reviews and evaluations when needed.
- Work directly with department managers to assist in carrying out their responsibilities on personal matters.
- Support HR functions, including organizational development and succession planning, compensation, job evaluation/descriptions, awards and recognition, company meals, public/community relations, etc.
- Maintain the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related issues, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and grievances, maintaining confidentiality and fairness in the process.
- Effective communication, both written and verbally.
- Other duties as assigned.
**EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Follow the Company’s rules and policies.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable Human Resources laws and ensure compliance.
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
- Ensure the company remains updated on all policies and procedures per the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
- Effective communication with production plant and office personnel, written and verbal, to give and receive instructions accurately.
- Remain an active listener and/or problem solver of people’s issues demonstrating functional and organizational leadership.
- Ensure employee training is tracked and remains up to date.
- Instruct, train and test employees as required.
- Schedule employees for recertification when training is due to expire.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Interface well with all levels of associates.
- Maintain strong time management skills.
- Maintain strong organizational skills and work with minimum supervision.
- Achieve goals economically.
- Willing to take courses as required and implement as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Human Resources Management Certification, Business degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience
**ASSETS**:
- Knowledge using ADP payroll system
- Certified HR Professional (CHRP) certification
- Accounting certificate, accounting skills, or equivalent.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks and meet deadlines in a lean manufacturing environment.
