Barrie, Canada Water Depot Full time

As the go to water treatment/U fill stores in Ontario, Water Depot has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Bookkeeper/Accounting person reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Management Team, based in Barrie at the Central Home Office.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Accounts Payable: Enter credit card receipts and reconcile credit card statements, processing payments, generating expense reports.
- Accounts Receivable: Generating invoicing, tracking deposits, reconciling bank statements, P.O. invoicing.
- Preparing and submitting government remittances such as WSIB, EHT and source deductions.
- Payroll process.
- Month End, reconcile bank account, record month end expenses, prepare financial statements and report month end cash flow.
- Data entry into accounting system including receipts, vender PO’s, vender invoices, franchisee invoices, franchisee payments etc.
- Create and maintain accounting files.
- Answer and direct a low level of inbound phone calls.
- Process any sales invoices
- Process any payments to government agencies as required.
- Collections: Calling and collecting receivables, monthly delinquency notices, resolving issues pertaining to franchisee invoices, reconcile franchisee disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due, account adjustments.
- Match suppliers' invoices with purchase orders and goods receipts in a timely manner and process payment, ensuring accuracy of data.
- Respond to external and internal enquiries on outstanding invoices, missing cheques or remittances
- Prepare cheques and all supporting documents for mailing out to vendors
- Perform petty cash reconciliations

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post secondary accounting diploma and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a franchise environment.
- Comfortable moving back and forth between A/R and A/P.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Good organisational, time management and prioritising skills.
- Ability to work under numerous interruptions.
- Experience working with BV and Quickbooks is an asset
