General Manager - Café Crema & Freds Italian (West Vancouver)

About Us

Freds Hospitality is a growing hospitality group committed to delivering memorable dining experiences across British Columbia. In West Vancouver, Café Crema and Freds Italian operate side-by-side in one landmark building, offering guests two distinct concepts: a vibrant café culture experience and a modern Italian dining destination.

We are seeking an experienced **General Manager** to oversee both operations, splitting time equally between the two venues. This role requires a dynamic, hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with daily operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- **Operational Leadership**:

- Oversee day-to-day operations for both Café Crema and Freds Italian.
- Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Maintain brand standards, guest service excellence, and operational efficiency.
- **Team Management & Culture**:

- Recruit, train, and mentor staff across both venues.
- Foster a positive, performance-driven culture that emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork.
- Manage scheduling, labour targets, and employee engagement initiatives.
- **Financial & Business Oversight**:

- Monitor and achieve sales, labour, and cost targets.
- Work closely with operations and accounting to ensure budgets are met and reporting is accurate.
- Drive revenue growth through innovative programming, promotions, and community engagement.
- **Guest Experience**:

- Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction across both brands.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively.
- Uphold the reputation of both Café Crema and Freds Italian as West Vancouver dining staples.
- **Compliance & Standards**:

- Ensure all operations comply with VCH, WorkSafeBC, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Oversee health & safety programs and training.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years in a senior management role within hospitality (multi-unit or dual-concept experience strongly preferred).
- Strong background in food & beverage operations (restaurant and/or café).
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
- Solid financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
