**Position Title: Marketing Assistant**

**Area of Specialty**: Marketing & Promotion

**Immediate Supervisor**: Manager

**Position Summary**:

- Assisting with a series of marketing projects designed to raise the profile of the Historic Gardens, increase visitation, lengthen visitor stays and encourage repeat visitation.

**Duties**:

- Assist management with innovative ways to attract more visitors from target markets in Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.
- Increase cross promotion with other regional attractions and businesses in order to intercept visitors already in the region and encourage them to visit the Historic Gardens while they are in the area.
- To assist staff in carrying out all protocols for visitor safety within the Historic Gardens.
- All other duties as relating to the operation of the Historic Gardens as required for the overall good of the Gardens, as instructed by the Manager.

**Skills Required (prerequisite)**:

- excellent interpersonal skills
- strong organizational abilities, self-starter
- interest in tourism and visitor service (interest in gardens and heritage an asset)
- able and willing to work in a variety of conditions, flexible hours
- must have valid drivers license

**Equipment Used**:

- Office equipment: computers, copiers, fax, etc
- Customer Service equipment: cash register, interac, etc

**Hours of Work**:

- Work Term: 14 weeks
- Hours: 35 hours per week. Half hour unpaid lunch.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
