Early Childhood Director

We are a play-based, child-centered program that values connection, curiosity, and collaboration. We’re looking for a Director who leads with heart, spends more time in classrooms than in an office, and is committed to growing a healthy, happy, and inspired learning community.

We are looking for a leader to join our team as Director of our Kids' Stop Auburn Bay location. Full program with a capacity of 103 children. Director will also be working closely with our Out of School Care Director (separate unit in the same complex). Due to the size of this program, a Director with prior experience is required.

The Early Childhood Director will provide hands-on leadership and support to a dedicated team of educators, while cultivating strong partnerships with families and building lasting relationships within the community. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early learning and thrives in a collaborative, people-focused environment. Minimal time will be spent on administrative tasks — the real work is with people, not paperwork.

**What You Need**:

- Level 3 Alberta Early Childhood Education required
- First Aid & CPR
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Management experience (due to the size of the program, previous childcare Director experience is highly preferred)
- Class 4 Driver's License (must have or be willing to obtain; more details provided in regards to reimbursement)

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Deep commitment to child-centered, relationship-based early childhood education.
- Leadership experience in a childcare centre or early learning program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to support and inspire a diverse team of educators.
- Comfortable being out of the office and on the floor.
- Familiarity with licensing and early childhood best practices.

As Director you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the centre in a professional manner. Please note that this position will have administration, but requires presence in the classrooms. This can be doing observations, assisting the classroom educators, assisting the children, role modelling, etc. The Director will need to lead by example, maintaining a positive environment in all matters ensuring all employees follow and adhere to all policies and procedures.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
