Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Langley Willoughby offer the world’s most successful after-school learning program. We strive to help each child who comes into our centre realize their maximum potential and become strong, independent learners.

Center Assistants support the Instructor and/or Assistant Instructors in a variety of instructional and center management tasks. Job responsibilities are assigned by the Instructor and/or Assistant Instructors based on the needs of each center. This position is part-time and may require you to work evenings and or on the weekend.

Grading:

- Grading of student classwork, homework, and corrections and organizing of student worksheets **Ensuring student classwork is completed and corrected to 100%**:

- Assessing oral reading ability with reading students and providing necessary feedback
- Provide assistance/guidance to students, as needed, adhering to Kumon Method standards and center procedures
- Provide Instructor with written or verbal feedback, as needed, based on student observations and/or student performance on worksheets Work with other grading assistants to create a balanced workload to ensure grading is completed before the end of class
- General Responsibilities: Reply messages and Parental concerns to the Instructor or Assistant Instructor in a timely manner
- Prepare student files
- Developing own knowledge of Kumon Method and worksheets
- Assisting with marketing initiatives and retention events (ex: student awards, goal-setting parties)Support Customer Service issues as they arise

Qualifications:

- Strong verbal communication skills, intermediate written communication skills preferred
- Proficient math and reading skills
- Proficient in basic computer usage
- Customer service minded individual**
- **This is a long -term, part -time position, not a summer job.**_

Part-time hours: 4-8 hours per week

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Class Schedule:

- Tuesday 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
- Thursday 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

**NOTE: A criminal record check for working with vulnerable sectors is required.**
