**Summer Intern Postion**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist individuals with identifying recreational, leisure and educational activities.
- Encourage participation in activities by acting as a role model.
- Provide guidance to enhance social independence.
- Attend team, agency and committee meetings as schedule permits.
- Promote individual empowerment and independence by offering choices, teaching self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.

**INTERPERSONAL**
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve department and agency goals for production.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative and pleasant demeanor with customers and team members. Empower team members through positive feedback and utilize strengths and expertise of others.
- Maintain high ethical and professional standards at all times.

**SAFETY AND WELL-BEING**
- Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times according to department and agency policies.
- Read, understand and comply with Cosmos group of companies’ Health and Safety policies and safe work practices and procedures.
- Report any unsafe, unhealthy condition to your manager immediately.
- Take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of co-workers, clients and self.

**Education, Experience and Qualifications**:

- One year post-secondary education in Human Services or equivalent.
- Clear vulnerable sector check
- Driver’s Abstract
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Vehicle Insurance ( 2 Million)
- Reliable Vehicle

**Work Ethic Expectations**:

- Report for shifts consistently and with enough time to be ready to start work at shift commencement.
- Adhere to break times and schedule.
- Report any case of absenteeism, the need to leave early for appointments or other concerns as soon as possible to Manager.
- Reliable transportation in order to get to work on time daily.

**Eligibility**:
To be eligible, youth must:

- be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $18.11 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
