Job Description
Under the supervision of the Department Supervisor, the Team Leader plays an essential role in achieving departmental and organizational objectives. He works closely with his supervisor to ensure that work meets the organization's standards in terms of health and safety, operational efficiency and quality. The team leader must determine and plan the work of each member of his team. To do this, he or she must ensure that each team member has the necessary training and tools to carry out their work safely. The team leader is the role model for all employees in the department.
Role and responsibilities
- Prepares workstations by moving pallets using hand pallet trucks.
- In doing so, the Team Leader ensures that employees have everything they need to get the job done safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Ensures that good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures are followed at all times, and that all products consistently meet specifications.
- Ensures that employees follow work instructions provided by VKS.
- Ensures that people use the right tools for the job at all times.
- Ensure that people have the proper training to perform the job.
- Ensures that employees respect the time allotted to carry out the work requested.
- Supports the operations of production departments/teams to ensure that the quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operational plan are achieved.
- To support these activities, the Team Leader will perform Gemba walks according to the criteria established by the organization.
- Integrates new employees, ensuring that they are properly mentored to ensure proper integration.
- Trains employees on certain tasks they are familiar with.
- Conducts frequent quality inspections of operators.
- Mobilizes troops. Leads daily meetings with team members to maintain transparent communication. Knows and enjoys conveying information.
- Distributes and ensures completion of work orders.
- Carries out the tasks of production employees when short-staffed.
- Maintains 5S in department. Ensures that employees complete their 5S tasks when they leave the workplace, every day.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 3 to 5 years' leadership experience in the manufacturing sector.
- Commitment to employee health and safety.
- Strong passion for achievement
- Perform with a sense of urgency while not neglecting quality.
- Excellent time management, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Trustworthy and values responsibility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong and effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs approximately 50 times a day.
