**Purpose**
As a member of the Investment Operations team and under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will assist in the smooth running of operations and ensure the integrity and accuracy of activities recorded in clients’ portfolios. You will also perform various daily and monthly control, monitoring, and reporting functions.
**Responsibilities**
- Assess the daily liquidity of clients and communicate cash balances to money market managers in a timely manner
- Monitor trades matching and settlement with custodians and brokers
- Reconcile positions between custodians and the portfolio accounting system
- Manage all aspects of account opening and documentation and monitor transfers of assets, facilitate communication with custodians
- Ensure that dividends, principal and interest payments, maturities, corporate actions and other transactions are processed correctly and on time
- Responsible for receiving daily mail from counterparties, responsible for proxy voting
- Client file organization and maintenance
- Responsible for printing and binding of meeting materials and quarterly reports
- You participate in the continuous improvement of business processes
- Maintain daily pricing of securities and monthly benchmarks
- Assist other team members and continue to strengthen cross-business working relationships
**Job Requirements**
A career in Investment Management is challenging and fast-paced. Our clients have justifiably high expectations of our firm personnel. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Preference will be given to applicants who meet the following requirements:
- University Degree (preference for Business, Math or Economics)
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course
