- **The role**:_

Zookeepers are responsible for providing a high standard of day-to-day care for the animals and animal holdings in your assigned area.
- **Your responsibilities**:_

Displays and demonstrates knowledge of the basic biology, behaviors and husbandry of all taxon groups.

Cleans and maintains animal holdings, including the use of chemical agents and special tools to assure the health and safety of the animals.

Assists with animal acquisition, transport, and acclimation of all animals within collection and may accompany animals to and from other zoos.

Responsible for advanced husbandry and behavioral training of animals in the assigned area and creating detailed reports.

Research and develop animal enrichment plan to be implemented daily.

Ensure animal exhibits, food preparation, and storage areas are maintained daily, cleaned appropriately and disinfected according to policy

Ensure standards for the cleaning and disinfecting of all tools, tubs, work surfaces and machines are being followed according to policy
- **What you bring to the role**:_

Minimum four years of animal husbandry experience in a CAZA - accredited zoological park or equivalent

High School graduate or GED equivalency.

Must have completed post-secondary education in Sciences from a recognized college or university. (Examples include but not limited to Bachelor of Science in Biology, Animal Science, or Zoology or completed Zoo-Aquarium Technical Program).

Working knowledge and understanding of the CAZA and ZAA Code of Ethics, CAZA Standards for Accreditation and CAZA Population Management guidelines.

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
