**Country**:Canada**Position Location**:Toronto, Ontario**Contract Type**:Permanent**Work Pattern**:Full Time**Sector**:Transport**Discipline**:Railways**Job Ref**:2717**Recruiter Contact**:Ajay Pathak- Reporting to the Transit and Urban Mobility Group Lead, you will be responsible for leadership of a technical team of staff consisting of a well-balanced structure of senior, intermediate, and junior staff to ensure the right technical competence is maintained to manage technical risk while balancing short and long-term utilization, driving staff engagement and retention.- As part of your role, you will work alongside the Business Development and Proposal teams and provide leadership, providing oversight to Bid Managers and Principals in the implementation of project win strategies. You will be an integral part of the decision to bid and proposal approval process for all opportunities within your portfolio. You will also work with the Principal Contract Specialist and Unit Commercial Manager to facilitate all required approvals including, but not limited to Special Commitments and financial approvals beyond your authority level within the Transit Central Portfolio.- As part of the Transit Central Portfolio, you will work directly with Project Principals and Project Managers to actively review and report on key metrics including project net revenue and profit, aged debt, WIP, governance and Business Management System (BMS) compliance. You will formally report Portfolio Performance to the Unit Commercial Manager, Divisional General Manager and Unit Management Accountant on a monthly basis. You will regularly engage with project teams to recognize any issues that may impact Portfolio performance or compliance - The role is the first point of escalation from Bid and Project Principals for any specific issues relating to client relationship, commercial delivery, finance and BMS compliance.- The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and behaviors required, and additional responsibilities may not be listed:

- Advising on promotion, salary and training of the staff in the Discipline in consultation with the Group Lead and Resource Manager;

- Managing the utilization of resources in coordination with the Group Lead and Resource Manager (short-term and long-term), including planning and forecasting for critical project and opportunity resourcing;
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sustainable growth, commercial and compliance culture and improve project performance within the transit portfolio by defining behaviors for accountability, leading by example and providing clear messaging;
- Undertake the role of Manager or Principal on key pursuits and projects accordingly;
- Coordinating with the Group Lead and Resource Manager to plan and lead the hiring of new staff - identifying gaps in the team, filling them, and planning for growth in alignment with the Transit strategic objectives;
- Coach and develop Project Managers and Principals to further embed our ways of working and best practices in delivery within the transit portfolio;
- Work alongside the Unit BMS Manager to ensure that the appropriate governance is followed;
- Understand and execute the North America/South America (NASA) and corresponding Unit strategy respecting our market and geographic focus;
