The Home has been owned and operated by The Mennonite Home Association of York County for more than fifty years.
Our mission is to serve seniors, nurture the community and honour aging. We are seeking a Client Service Clerk/Screener to join our team
Shifts:
- 5am-2pm or 2pm-10.30pm
- Alternate Weekends
- Availability for Statutory Holidays
**Job description**:

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for reviewing and understanding all current information relevant to screening requirements, including but not limited to information bulletins and infection control measures
- At the beginning of every shift, review and read all bulletins and screening questions, and seek clarity where necessary to ensure current requirements are understood
- Deliver prompt, accurate, professional, & courteous screening, information, directions to all internal and external clients including, patients, families, visitors and couriers, staff, physicians
- Prepare greeting stations/ areas as needed, including ensuring sufficient supplies
- Greet Internal and external customers in a courteous, professional, and sensitive manner and disseminate information in a compassionate yet firm manner
- Verify eligibility for entrance by providing Visitor Pass sticker, screen for symptoms, and refer individuals for additional screening if required, to proper assessment areas
- Inform internal/external clients of all safety and infection control measures, as well as visitor restrictions.
- Perform screening duties as needed in a safe, sensitive yet firm manner including: hand sanitizing; distribute proper infection control equipment is distributed and worn; screening questions; To greet, assist and direct all residents and visitors.
- To answer all incoming calls, and respond to caller's inquiries in a positive, professional manner.
- Perform clerical tasks not limited to typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, running reports via PCC, handling mail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize.
- Responsible to replace nursing staff as required on Staff Schedule Care.
- To maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized reception area.
- To assist with projects as required by other administrative support.
- To complete other duties as assigned.
- To uphold and promote the Parkview Services for Seniors values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity.
**Qualifications**
- Above average interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must be fully vaccinated
- Strong understanding of basic office machine functions (photocopier/fax/postage meter).
- Previous experience in reception is considered an asset.
- Must exhibit professional interpersonal and telephone manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, work effectively within a variety of stressful situations, challenges and frequent interruptions.
- Highly organized and detail focused capable of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent organization, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be levelheaded and calm in emergency situations.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (VCS) - within 6 months
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
**Salary**: $15.00 per hour
