**Quality Assurance & Health & Safety Specialist**

The Quality Assurance & Health & Safety Specialist will help develop, establish, and maintain Quality Control procedures and practices that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Production and Sales managers, the Quality Assurance & Health & Safety Specialist will investigate, analyze and report quality control data to management, as well as participate in Quality control audits. This position will also support the awareness, visibility, and communication of quality and Health & Safety initiatives to all areas of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
**Quality Control**
- Perform quality control **random sampling inspections daily** to ensure consistency and quality.
- **Learn about existing QC practices** and get training from the management team.
- Review, adjust, and implement **Quality Control specification sheets**.
- Generates **quality daily, weekly, and monthly reports** for the Production Manager.
- Develop company’s **quality control policies and procedures**.
- Participate in continuous **improvement activities, corrective action planning**, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Participates in **root cause analysis**:

- Work with Sales and Production teams on **new projects/products**, identify potential quality issues, and develop technical solutions with internal teams and/or suppliers.
- Ensure **manufacturing team consistently adheres** to company quality control procedures and inform management.
- Support **client requests for compliance information** required for their audit requirements such as AIB, GMP, and Letter of Guarantee.
- Assist in **training of manufacturing employees** on SOP and proper documentation practice.

**Health & Safety**
- Adheres to SSOP and JOHS standards, requirements and practices.
- Develop with the help of the management team various occupational health and safety programs and procedures, chemical exposure control plans/procedures and/ or managing the review of those documents.
- Coordinate with other departments on Health & Safety related issues.

**Skills and Education**:

- An appropriate combination of post-secondary education and professional work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, GMP/AIB/HACCP Standards in a manufacturing environment.
- HACCP certificate (basic training)
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide support to all departments within the company.
- Strong team player with excellent problem and conflict solving skills.
- Able to both train and learn from others.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
