Caledonia Fire Protection Ltd is a full-service fire protection company who carries out inspections, repairs and installations on fire alarm, fire sprinkler, special fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, backflow preventers and fire hydrants.

Since 2006 Caledonia has had sustained organic growth from being a home based business to providing employment to 12 team members from a 2400sq ft. hub located in Nanaimo from which we provide our services to our customers located on Vancouver Island.

Job locations are not limited to customer locations, but also within our facility.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Install and service alarm systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Use power tools and hand tools to build and assemble alarm components.
- Test and troubleshoot alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate inspection, testing and repair of various fire protection services & equipment on-site at customer locations.
- Perform basic services of: fire extinguishers, fire alarms and emergency lights. Adhering to the ASTTBC certification, BC Fire Code and Municipality guidelines.
- Complete inspection reports and other relevant paperwork as per company standards and submit electronically daily.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for installation and assembly.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft.

**Assets**:

- Previous experience as an alarm technician or in a related field an asset.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of alarm systems an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in electrical/mechanical operations and or use of stored
pressure cylinders (nitrogen, fire extinguishers and compressed air).
- Knowledge of WHIMIS/dangerous goods.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Criminal record check
- Hand Tools (specialty tools provided)

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
