Harrisville Pharmacy is looking for a pharmacy assistant to join our team. As a pharmacy assistant, you will report to the pharmacy manager and will work alongside your professional team members. The pharmacy assistant is an integral part of a diverse team and is responsible for providing high-quality customer service in the pharmacy and front of store, as well as assisting in maintenance and operations of the pharmacy.
**The pharmacy assistant will play a vital role in helping Harrisville Pharmacy grow our client base by providing exceptional customer service in an empathetic and caring manner, and by helping maintain our vision of creating a uniquely personal pharmacy experience that offers a level of care that goes far beyond the prescription.

**Drug Distribution**:

- Perform all tasks related to dispensing of prescriptions including, prescription drop-off, data entry and packaging, under the supervision of a pharmacy technician or pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy workflow from beginning to end, communicating realistic wait times to clients.
- Manage and prepare adherence packaging, including scheduling of batches and maintaining supplies, as required.
- Manage pharmacy inventory including order and receiving of product, maintaining adequate levels of product and managing expired product.
- Maintain the operation of the pharmacy such as managing pharmacy supplies, cleaning of the pharmacy, following controlled drugs and substances standards, as well as administrative tasks such as document filing and managing manual third-party claims.
- Prepare level “A” compounds under the supervision of a pharmacy technician or pharmacist.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals within the circle of care to provide optimal client care.

**Professional Services**:

- Identify and schedule clients for clinical services, using an appointment-based model.
- Assist the pharmacy technician or pharmacist with clinical services, such as triaging clients and performing clerical tasks, as needed.
- Assist with the administration opioid agonist therapy management, as needed.

**Customer Service**:

- Interact in a caring and empathetic manner with all pharmacy clients.
- Promptly and professionally acknowledging clients.
- Promptly answer the phone in a professional and friendly manner.
- Refer clients to the pharmacy technician or pharmacist as required, based upon their needs.
- Perform all cash functions for pharmacy, home health and wellness and front store clients.

**Operational**:

- Must be able to work independently, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the entire store, including maintaining the cash float.
- Assist with the operation of the front store including ordering and receiving product, merchandising of product, cleaning and maintenance of the front store and helping clients locate products.
- Adhere to and implement all federal, provincial and company standards and code of ethics.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are continuously met, in accordance with federal and provincial laws.

**Job Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a Canadian pharmacy preferred.
- Possess above average communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to work in English, although bilingual in English and French is considered an asset.
