**SUMMARY**:
The Parts Technician is responsible for sourcing, and staging parts, and tools required by the service mechanics. This role acts as the main point of contact between our service mechanics and suppliers. In addition, the Parts person will maintain appropriate inventory levels for our commonly used items and assist customers with parts quotations and sales.

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide support to service Mechanics and the Sales team.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels.
- Create, track, and process all purchase orders (administrative).
- Process parts quotations and orders to Startec Customers.
- Track and maintain Startec tools and Assets.
- Prioritize workload to meet the daily functionality of the Company.

Provide Support to Service Mechanics, Sales Team, and Administrative Teams. (30%)
- Source, procure, and stage parts and materials as required.
- Keep technicians and sales team informed of order status.
- Assist the Sales team with quoting process by sourcing parts and providing current pricing and lead time.
- Work with administration to process completed work orders, supplier invoices, and freight bills.

Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels_ (15%)_
- Monitor inventory using the system and visual checks to avoid overstock and stockouts.
- Restock inventory as required through supplier purchases and transfers between branches.
- Label incoming parts with the correct part number and place them in inventory in the right location.
- Participate in bi-weekly cycle counts and Yearly inventory counts.

Administrative)_ (20%)_
- Create and process purchase orders for Startec suppliers.
- Follow up on outstanding orders, keeping all Startec parties involved up to date on any changes.
- Freight waybill and invoice processing for local couriers.

Process parts quotations and orders to Startec Customers_ (30%)_
- Reply to requests from customers by sourcing parts and providing a quote.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes.
- Process customer orders based on quotes and/or customer purchase orders.
- Keep customers informed of their outstanding orders.

Track and maintain Startec tools and Assets(5%)
- Purchase tools for mechanics as required.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are tagged with an Asset number.
- Using system monitor tools that require yearly inspection or certification and sending out as required.
- Monitor tool conditions and send for repair or replacement as required.

**Other Job Duties**:

- Ensure safety requirements are being met daily through the provision of appropriate P.P.E. and training.
- Shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Maintain an appropriate level of cleanliness in parts Inventory shelving and Job staging area.
- Responsible for after-hours Parts phone - On-Call
- Monitor and maintain shop consumables, ensuring these items are available as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS**:

- Journeyman Parts Technician or suitable trade experience equivalent.
- Microsoft Windows operating systems; Microsoft Office Suite.
