**Position Overview**:
The Mechanical Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This is an onsite role which requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Safety and Compliance**:

- Strictly adhere to Drake's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program and other governing safe work regulations.
- Ensure that all workers under your supervision comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Perform daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) prior to the start of the shift and conduct weekly toolbox talks.
- Ensure that all mechanical systems are installed and maintained according to relevant codes and regulations.
- Make sure that any hazardous materials are handled and disposed of safely according to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that any personnel working with confined spaces or hazardous materials are properly trained and understand the procedures.

**Leadership and Supervision**:

- Lead by example, providing guidance and direction to Mechanical Technicians and Laborers as needed.
- Oversee and ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and other related equipment.
- Direct crew in completing mechanical installations and maintenance tasks.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Set up and operate testing equipment to verify proper system operation.
- Establish and confirm the layout, alignment, and installation of mechanical systems.
- Coordinate for the procurement of necessary materials and equipment, from site.
- Inspect the site throughout the day to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

**Coordination and Communication**:

- Work closely with the Project Manager and notify them of any issues, unexpected changes, or extra work.
- Communicate with the public in a polite and courteous manner.
- Communicate with Dispatch to arrange for tools and equipment needed to complete the job the day prior.
- Ensure that all faulty equipment is tagged out and Dispatch is informed.
- Problem solve through coordination with management and engineering professionals.

**Documentation and Organization**:

- Ensure proper procedures and paperwork are completed in the event of an incident.
- Keep organized hours, packing slips, and maintenance logs, and submit them to office personnel in a timely manner.
- Check at the end of each shift that the site is clean, all tools are properly stored away, and the site is secured.
- Maintain accurate as-built record drawings and maintenance records.

**Efficiency and Quality Control**:

- Ensure the efficiency of equipment and labor on site.
- Closely supervise installations and maintenance tasks to ensure all work meets applicable standards or better.
- Familiarity with testing procedures and the ability to work with diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Coordinate for system testing, performance evaluation, and compliance inspections.

**Must be willing to work out-of-town**

Pay: $40.00-$47.00 per hour
