**About Life After Burns**

We are Life After Burns, a burn survivor community that offers a safe and educational space for burn survivors and their loved ones across Canada.

Life After Burns was founded by Victoria Vass, who suffered 3rd degree burns at the age of 9 years old. While discovering and going through the interpersonal growth that such a rough experience brings, she has made it her mission to educate and build a community with the hopes of helping others on their own journey.

**Position Summary**

The Social Media Volunteer helps us to create the continuous buzz around _**Life After Burns**_’s mandate. You will be the advocate of our cause and an integral part of our social media team. If you are a self-starter looking for hands-on social media experience within the non-profit space, this is the perfect role for you.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Manage, grow & strengthen online communities and overall presence by creating and evaluating social media content.
- Plan, develop & consistently publish engaging and meaningful social media campaigns in an effort to drive social media engagement.
- Build & nurture a devoted online community through the execution of timely responses for all social media comments and inquiries.
- Follow netiquette, conform to ethical standards and interact appropriately with others online
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Experienced in, and passionate about, online communities such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines, completing projects on time with professionalism.
- Ability to perform at a high level independently as well as with a collaborative team member.
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Canva, or other photo editing platforms is an asset.
- Experience using social media on behalf of a business, club or non-profit organization is an asset.
- Education in English, Journalism, Non-profit Management, Business Administration, International Development, Marketing, Graphic Design or equivalent field of study is an asset.
