Intermediate Quality Control Inspector

The **Stoney Creek, ON** office is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, analytical and professional **Intermediate Quality Control Inspector** to join the team. The position will largely be based out of the Niagara Falls head office as well.

**SUMMARY OF THE ROLE**:
Reporting to the Area Manager and Corporate Quality Assurance Manager the Intermediate Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs and practices with respect of to the various required Codes and Standards on multiple projects, while working with Project Management for the successful completion of the project(s) in a fabrication shop.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets/checklists/tracking logs of work in-progress and completed
- Material receiving inspections including verification of conformance to Standards
- Tracking, logging and organizing reports
- Maintains inspection and calibration records
- Examines work pieces to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements
- Performs visual, dimensional and weld inspections and keeps associated records
- Verifies and records dimensions of fabricated parts using various inspection tools
- Coordinates inspection activities for fabrication to various Codes/Standards with QC Lead and Project Manager
- Ensures compliance with procedural requirements (i.e. ASME Section I, II, CWB W59 and W47, CSA Z299/N299, ISO 9001)
- Compiles, reviews and presents history files (i.e. data packages)
- Participates in certification audits and various renewals
- Additional project-specific responsibilities, as required

**KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Completion of a College Diploma from a Quality program is considered an asset
- CWB W178-certified Level 2 inspector (W47.1 and/or W47.2 endorsements, preferred)
- CGSB PT Level 2
- Dimensional and Visual Inspection techniques
- Sound knowledge of various quality specifications, procedures, Standards and Codes

**SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- Weld inspection experience in fabrication and/or construction industries
- Able to read mechanical drawings (ie. blueprints)
- Computer skills - Proficiency with MS Word & Excel for completing forms and generating and maintaining spreadsheets, tracking logs and checklists
- Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Past experience working with Inspection and Test Plans ITP is preferable
- Knowledge of and experience with CSA Z/N299, ASME Section I, II, V, IX, and/or ISO 9001 is an asset
