Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher

**We are seeking an experienced and dedicated educator to join our school community as a Language Arts and Social Studies teacher for grades 3 through 6.** This position requires a dynamic professional who can adapt their teaching approach to meet the diverse learning needs of our students while fostering a love of learning through inquiry-based methodologies.
This is a full-time temporary position from September 2025 to December 2025, with a possibility of extension.
**Instructional Excellence**:
- Deliver differentiated instruction across multiple grade levels
- Provide targeted mini-lessons to individuals and small groups based on assessment of student needs and learning gaps
- Develop and implement extension activities for students who have mastered core concepts while providing additional support materials for those requiring assistance
**Student-Centered Learning**:
- Foster student ownership of learning by teaching students that education is their responsibility while providing appropriate guidance and scaffolding
- Implement inquiry-based learning approaches that encourage students to explore, question, and discover mathematical and scientific concepts
**Differentiated Programming**:
- Assess individual student learning styles and adapt instruction accordingly to ensure all students can access the curriculum
- Provide appropriate challenges and support based on each student's ability level and learning pace
- Create flexible grouping arrangements that allow students to work at their appropriate level and develop confidence
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and adjust programming as needed
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Demonstrated experience in elementary education
- Strong background in Language Arts education with deep content knowledge across grade levels
- Valid OCT certification
- Excellent classroom management skills with proven ability to maintain a positive learning environment
**Preferred Characteristics**:
- Dynamic motivation and communication skills with ability to inspire student engagement
- Strong problem-solving abilities with capacity to address instructional challenges quickly and effectively
- Experience implementing inquiry-based learning methodologies
- Proven track record of successful differentiated instruction and meeting diverse student needs
- Patience and persistence in supporting struggling learners while challenging advanced students
