Job Description

AltaGas - Director, Corporate Development

You Will:
- Lead valuation and investment analysis on major transactions and communicate recommendations and conclusions to AltaGas Senior Management and Board of Directors, includes full project management work on M&A processes- Manage transaction due diligence, including identifying major issues and facilitating discussions with key people across the organization as well as external experts- Maintain and build relationships with banks and other third parties that will service as long-term capital providers- Support senior management in the development of the annual Strategic Plan- Work cross functionally with Midstream, Utilities, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Digital and Supply Chain on major projects- Works independently and collaborating with senior leadership roles on major projects- Lead complex problem solving on major projects that require company-wide organization- Manage highly confidential information on a need-to-know basis in an efficient manner- Play a leading role in influencing better outcomes across the broader organization- Contribute to the preparation of presentation materials for AltaGas’ senior management and Board of Directors

You Have:
- Bachelor level university educated preferably with a finance or accounting focus- Financial related designation (i.e. CFA, CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or masters level university is considered an asset- 10+ years of work experience, including time spent in high-pace and demanding roles with cross team organization and coordination-
- Excellent financial analysis skills and the ability through utilizing Microsoft Excel to achieve timely and focused analytical conclusions- Possesses deep energy knowledge, detailed finance knowledge, and other cross functional understanding that can be applied across the broader organization- Ability to think independently, critically, and analytically while maintaining macro and micro-level perspectives- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
