**_Hours of Work_**_: Monday **to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm.**_ _37.5 hours per week _

**Agency Overview**:
Halton Women’s Place provides a safe haven, information and education to support women and children to live a life free from violence. We operate two emergency safe shelters, as well as community outreach and public education program. Our safe shelter facilities operate on a 24/7 basis. We are dedicated to ending violence against women and their children.

**Job Summary**:
Maintain the cleanliness of the shelter to ensure that residents and staff live and work in a safe and clean environment

**Responsibilities**:
**_Daily_**

Follow the developed cleaning and disinfecting schedule as identified by HWP, which does include, but is not limited to:

- Vacuum and mop the floors in the foyer and entrance to the shelter.
- Dust and disinfect all foyer/waiting area furniture.
- Clean windows and doors in the foyer area as needed.
- Clean and disinfect bathroom in the foyer area.
- Empty garbage cans.
- Sweep all main floor hallways.
- Wash main floor in all common areas.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen tables at prescribed times, and after meals.
- Clean kitchen sinks and counters at prescribed times and after meals.
- Clean and disinfect highchairs.
- Vacuum and wash the kitchen floor at prescribed times and after meals when necessary.
- Vacuum, dust and disinfect all lounge and counselling rooms.
- Clean and disinfect stairwells.
- Clean and disinfect both laundry areas; ensure laundry is removed from the washers and dryers, and check/clean dryer lint trays.
- Replenish paper products where required.
- Replenish hand and dish soap as required.
- Vacuum, disinfect and wash floors in the elevator. Wash walls as required.
- Maintain storage closets. Including organization, tidying and sorting supplies/ donations.
- Vacuum and mop second floor hallway.
- Wash house laundry as required.
- Report any safety concerns or damages to the Client Services Supervisor.
- Completes other tasks that from time to time may be assigned by the Supervisor.

**_Weekly_**
- Support cleaning and disinfecting of large and small appliances in the kitchen

in the kitchen - stove, fridge, freezer.
- Clean, disinfect and maintain all storage areas.
- Clean and disinfect the board room.
- Wash windows as required.

**_Monthly_**
- Support cleaning and disinfecting of large and small appliances in the kitchen.
- Clean and disinfect washers, dryer, (behind and under) counters, walls and floors in laundry area and downstairs hallway.
- Sweep and maintain all electrical, archive and storage areas.
- Vacuum and clean all vents, air returns and fans.
- Dust window coverings, wash/clean as needed.
- Maintain furniture and rugs (clean/wash) as needed.
- Orders all supplies within budgetary guidelines (i.e. paper towels, cleansers, dishwasher detergentand such like).
- Completes other tasks that from time to time may be assigned by the Supervisor.

**_As needed_**
- Clean, disinfect bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms as needed upon a client’s departure.
- Prepare cleaned rooms for new intakes.

**Qualifications and Core Competencies**:

- Secondary school education and at least two years’ experience working in a similar role in a residential setting is an asset;
- Ability to be self-directed and maintain an efficient work pace
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unsupported
- Ability to work with a variety of cleaning products and tools
- Police Clearance Certificate for Vulnerable Sector
- CPR and First Aid
- WHMIS Certified

Additional requirements and conditions of Employment offers:

- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
- Recent and Acceptable results TB test.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED level C

**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
