**OCL Heavy Equipment Operator**

**Job Summary**

OCL Custom Crushing and Quarrying Ltd., specializes in custom aggregate production and heavy equipment; owning and operating three gravel pits and a quarry for over thirty years to best serve the construction community in and around the Greater Sudbury area.

OCL Custom Crushing and Quarry Ltd. is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Operator. The Heavy Equipment Operator will require aggregate and operations experience. The Heavy Equipment Operator will also work alongside OCL Custom Crushing and Quarry Ltd.'s sister company Z'gamok Construction LP.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include: screening equipment, backhoe excavator, loaders, bulldozer, front end loader, rock truck, compact, and roller.

Operator will use heavy equipment to perform a variety of tasks to load, unload and manage aggregate products for quarrying and construction activities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Operate heavy equipment safely to complete a variety of job tasks to assist with construction projects
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition, reporting and logging maintenance requirements or concerns
- Follow directives and stockpile aggregates
- Report any repair issues or equipment hazards immediately
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Complete daily paperwork accurately including timesheets, pre-operational inspections, pre-tasks assessments; etc.
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Assist with general labour duties when needed, to complete construction projects
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Various locations including both residential and commercial construction sites
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Full Class G License
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Crushing and screening experience considered an asset
- Experience operating 980K-988K loaders considered an asset
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Ability to follow safe working procedures
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
