Join our team as an Infrastructure Locator and be a key player in protecting our underground telecommunications infrastructure In this role, you will use advanced locating equipment to accurately identify and mark underground cables to ensure safe excavation.
Your responsibilities will include interpreting utility maps, maintaining detailed records, troubleshooting mapping discrepancies, and effectively communicating with contractors and internal teams. You will also respond to emergency locate requests during your on-call rotation, perform safety checks, and operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws.

- Hours of work:

- Regular working hours are from 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday
- The Infrastructure Locator will participate in an on-call rotation schedule during evenings and weekends to assist with emergency locate requests

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Embody Execulink’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers and colleagues
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations
- Conduct field surveys to identify and mark underground telecom cables using industry-standard locating tools (e.g., electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar)
- Analyze utility maps, blueprints, and as-built drawings to confirm cable routes
- Communicate effectively with contractors, construction teams, customers, and internal departments to promote safe excavation practices
- Maintain accurate records and reports of completed locates, including detailed sketches, photographs, and GIS mapping systems
- Perform safety and verification checks prior to excavation activities
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company procedures for utility locates
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to utility locations and mapping discrepancies
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with local, provincial, and federal traffic laws, following company driving policies (e.g., speed limits, seatbelt use, defensive driving)
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Maintain a clean driving record and promptly report any incidents or violations
- Ensure the upkeep of company vehicles and report maintenance needs as required
- Operate and maintain locating tools and equipment in optimal working condition
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and ongoing learning to stay informed on best practices and technological advancements
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergency locate requests
- Uphold and enforce safety standards as mandated by federal law
- Perform any additional duties as assigned

**Required Skills & Abilities**:

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (climbing, lifting, carrying) in various weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Utilocate and ArcGIS is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills; capable of identifying issues and implementing solutions or seeking assistance as needed
- Proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to thrive under time constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service
