**Job description**

Lookout Ridge is a retirement community located in the heart of Pelham, Ontario. We are looking to hire a part-time Dietary Service Attendant. Duties include setting up the dining room, serving meals to residents and clean-up duties. We offer a team environment, scheduling flexibility and opportunity for growth. Hours per week are 22.5 per week and the opportunity to pick up shifts.

**Skills and Competency Level Required**:

- Can meet the physical demands of the position
- Can follow written and oral directions
- Possess communication skills to deal with others effectively in a retirement community setting
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to resident care and provide assistance as needed
- Possess the ability to prioritize work and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Be able to work effectively with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
- Possess a safe food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Have practical knowledge of safe food handling procedures to minimize risk of cross contamination
- Be capable of operating an industrial dishwasher and other basic kitchen equipment
- Be available to work weekdays and weekend shifts as required. Shifts are either 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Demonstrate the ability to meet regular attendance requirements
- Always demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and display an understanding of professional guidelines required when dealing with residents
- Have completed WHMIS training
- May be required to perform some housekeeping and sanitizing procedures as needed.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
