The foundation of our award winning success is having the right people on our team. **At Flynn, it's not just a job, it's a career** As a member of Flynn’s Vancouver Branch (located in Surrey, BC), the Architectural Products Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring architectural systems are built with the highest degree of quality, in the safest and most cost-effective manner. This position works closely with Architectural Products Construction Manager in order to ensure that all of the necessary work gets done as safe and efficient as possible. - A Day In The Life - Communicate daily with assigned site foremen to ensure production expectations are achievable and all barriers to success are removed through coordination of additional resources or communication with the client and other trades - Ensure that all architectural product operations on each project comply with and adhere to Flynn’s safety and health policies - Attend bid reviews and turn-over meetings with foremen to advise on labour requirements and production challenges - Proactively determine equipment needs on site and coordinate their delivery - Communicate issues and delays to PM and others - Assist and advise on crew composition and manpower requirements - Assist in hiring and separation of field employees through interviews, performance reviews, and termination meetings - Attend Start up/kick-off meetings with project team to review working access, drawing details, and ways to simplify work while still following specifications and industry regulations - Ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule - Attend weekly Superintendent meetings and Production meetings as required - Work with the foreman and Project Management to get accurate field measurements for submittal - Work with the foreman and PM to ensure Flynn follows a QA/QC Program - Work with the foreman to identify any potential extras to the contract and pass the information to the PM for pursuit. Provide and collect appropriate documents for billing submittals - Recruit, mentor and retain a dependable and knowledgeable architectural product workforce - Responsible for performing a specified number of site safety evaluations on multiple sites - Review and sign-off on Safety start up documents/safety plans - Ensure with foreman that all deficiencies are being completed on an ongoing basis, and that all final deficiency reports are promptly cleaned up and documentation of such are given to the PM or Coordinator to submit to the client for release of final payment - Attend meetings with Estimating, PM, Coordinator, and Foreman to perform a Post-Completion report (autopsy) on the project - What We Offer - Competitive wages and benefits - Excellent benefits program including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and RRSP matching - Work for one of Canada's Best Managed Companies - Rewarding, challenging, fast-paced work in an excellent environment - Great environment where our motto is "Flynn Family Winning Together" - On-going career development programs through our in-house Flynn University and eLearning courses - On-site fitness facility - What We Are Seeking - Construction experience in a supervisory capacity within the glazing and metals industry - Previous experience in a supervisory/management role - Advanced planning skills for establishing maximum productivity of workforce, materials, and equipment - Basic knowledge of MS office programs - Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines - Ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong attention to detail - Position Summary - Location: Vancouver, BC - Employment Type: Office, Salaried, Full-time - Job Functions: Superintendents, Architectural - Industry: Building Envelope CANRO
