We are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join our fast-growing team. We offer flexible working hours and a casual environment.
Reporting to the CEO, The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing bookkeeping and general accounting support such as accounts payable and invoicing. They are excited to lend their accounting expertise to our passionate team to help foster a culture of fun and excellence.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform the day to day processing of AP transactions to ensure that finances are maintained in an effective, up to date, and accurate manner.
- Prepare invoices for payment per various provincial buyer purchase order requirements and supervisor’s instructions.
- Sorting and filing documents and invoices to ensure organized and timely record keeping.
- Complete the monthly bank reconciliation processes for multiple accounts.
- Assist with year-end preparations for annual filings.
- Ad-hoc finance and admin duties as required.
**Skill requirements**:
- Solid understanding of core bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Access etc.).
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Superior organization and time management skills.
- Quick learner and eager to expand knowledge.
- Discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast paced, ever-changing industry.
- Comfortable communicating with provincial and federal government agencies responsible for Cannabis sales and distribution.
- Experience in QuickBooks is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be local to the Edmonton Area. Remote work not available.
**Educational requirements**:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 year college diploma in a related field.
**Physical Demands**:
- Able to engage with a computer screen for long periods of time.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Comfortable working in an access controlled environment and able to follow contamination prevention procedures and regulations applicable to all employees.
- All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the facility.
