Pouch: Packer

**Winpak Division** is seeking a **Packer** to join the **Pouch** **department** based out of Winnipeg on the 8-hour rotating shift. In this role you will be responsible to safely and efficiently inspect and pack the pouches according to established standards for product quality and kilogram/hour outputs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Inspect and pack pouches in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare in advance all orders for the shift to minimize the amount of non-productive time and production scrap.
- Assist the Operator by monitoring quality and production speeds and report any deviations from the standard to the Operator.
- Lift and handle boxes of finished goods which may weigh up to 22.5kg.
- Ensure that the necessary paperwork such as production reports, quality checklists, and line reports are complete and accurate.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness within the department.
- Operate lift truck (etc.) safely and efficiently to move materials as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpak’s ongoing registration to ISO 9001-2015, SQF Code, IMS certification, Total Quality Improvement programs and internal standards for operations and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Required Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of experience clearly communicating with team members both verbal and written.
- Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts as required including days, nights, and afternoons.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.5 kg).

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 6 + months of experience with equipment and/or machinery (not limited to lawn mowers, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, cranes, balers).
- 6+ months of experience in manufacturing and/or production environment.

**Additional Details**:

- The Pouch Packer position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
- We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location.

**8-Hour Shift Rotation**:

- Week 1 - Monday to Friday 7:00 - 3:00 (days)
- Week 2 - Monday to Friday 23:00 - 7:00 (nights)
- Week 3 - Monday to Friday 3:00 - 23:00 (afternoons)
- Week 4 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
