We are seeking an experienced, full-time nanny for our 4-year-old son in the west Hamilton mountain area to **start as soon as possible until September 2025**(could continue part-time starting in September).
Our child is autistic (mild to moderate support needs), energetic, affectionate, gentle, and sensory-seeking. He uses P2G to support his communication and thrives with consistent routines and engaging activities. He loves playing games together, playing outside, singing songs, reading books, and going for walks.
**This full-time position (guaranteed 40 hours/week) pays $22 per hour**, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. There is the opportunity for part-time hours starting in September 2025 if desired (afternoons, guaranteed ~20 hours/week).
**Must be available Monday-Friday from 8:45 am - 5:15 pm.**
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Plan and facilitate structured activities that support play, learning, and sensory needs, with a focus on outdoor activities.
- Encourage child to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
- Support communication by incorporating P2G into daily activities.
- Assist with toileting as needed (very early stages of potty training).
- Light meal/snack preparation.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to the child's care, such as laundry, tidying up after meals, loading/unloading the dishwasher, cleaning up play areas, etc.
- Minimum 2+ years of professional experience working with children in childcare, education, or related fields. Experience working as a Nanny in a private home is strongly preferred.
- Experience with autistic children is an asset.
- Calm, patient, and has strong communication skills.
- Creative and enthusiastic about engaging children through play.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willing to obtain).
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Payment will be processed through payroll with required income tax deductions.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
