Team Support (Medical Office Administration): 2 positions available
- 0.6 FTE 21 hours/week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. Primary location of work: KFHT Satellite Site, 18 Tain Street, Ripley, ON
The Kincardine Family Health Team is seeking experienced and qualified individuals to join our team in the role of Team Support (Medical Office Administration).
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Kincardine Family Health Team (KFHT) is a group of allied healthcare professionals with a mission to provide comprehensive patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that is responsive to the needs of the community.
- Provide administrative support and perform clerical duties.
- Scan, fax and / or mail documents as required.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments / tests / follow-ups.
- Manage referrals.
- Chart patient related activities in electronic medical record, as appropriate.
- Share information collected from patients with the appropriate medical team members.
- Tidying, light cleaning, disinfecting as required.
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and materials and order as required.
- Make recommendations for policy and / or procedure improvements.
- Participate in Team Meetings as needed.
- Assist in the management of waitlists for interdisciplinary programs
- Assist in the management of waitlist for patients needing a primary care provider and with administration of the unattached patient program
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Locations:
- Kincardine Family Health Team is a Multi-Site organization, with team members working at the following locations based on organizational/coverage needs.
- Kincardine Family Health Team Main Office, Hawthorne Community Clinic, 1201 Queen Street, Lower Level, Kincardine, ON
- Kincardine Family Health Team Satellite Site
- Ripley Medical Clinic, 18 Tain Street, Ripley, ON
- Port Elgin Family Health Network (Dr. Earl Health Centre), 786 Goderich St, Port Elgin, ON
- Saugeen Shores Family Health Organization (Saugeen Shores Medical Building), 36 Grey St N, Southampton, ON
**Experience**:
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Education / Specific Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a health or office administration related field preferred.
- Electronic Medical Record experience is an asset (PS Suite).
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient in use of computers (Microsoft Office, Apple products) and other office equipment.
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information; knowledge of applicable data privacy laws.
- Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases.
- Able to manage time efficiently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
