**Our Team:

**The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a **Supervisor, **Maintenance **to join our **Smelter Department **in **Sudbury, Ontario.**

This is a permanent position.

Additionally, in this position you will have:

- Solid interpersonal communication skills - both written and verbal, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling skills.
- Experience and knowledge of trades are required.
- Supervising requires: proven leadership abilities.
- Ability to effectively supervise and prioritize tasks with mínimal direction.
- Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
- Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
- Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
- Maintain all Crew Safety training requirements.
- Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including other supervisors, planners, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
- Work with Plant contacts and OSHE Members to complete all safety requirements (ie: JHA’s, PHR’s, SWP’s, Lift Plans, etc.).
- Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
- Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based off priority and required end date.
- Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.

**About You:
**Education**:

- Secondary education in a technical discipline would be an asset.
- Red Seal Trade certification would be an asset.

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in the mining/construction environment in maintenance would be an asset.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and related software products.
- Follow Vale’s Safety Policies, Programs, and Legislative Standards.
