**Controller**
Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has partnered with our client, to recruit a newly created Controller position to support their growing business and strategic plan. This is a very dynamic role that will influence and develop various aspects of the organization's financial and operational maturation.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will work with key financial and operational stakeholders across this growth-focused organization to provide support and propel financial and operational processes to optimize results.
You are eager, and precise, and are a professional accountant who takes charge and prides themselves on exceeding expectations. Providing relevant information to key stakeholders within the organization you will be a pivotable contributor.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review, improve, and lead the preparation of the company's financial statements and reporting packages.
- Actively engage and lead a team responsible for the month-end and year-end activities.
- Lead month-end financial reporting and analysis processes, completing and/or participating in review activities where appropriate.
- Partner with senior leadership of the global team, providing advice to stakeholders and driving accountability through accurate and timely information.
- Maintain and update monthly KPI reporting, including commentary around monthly results and performance against budgets/forecasts.
- Drive valuable insights and influence operational leadership through ad hoc analysis and decision support on strategic investments, and optimization initiatives.
- Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to influence and drive alignment across Product, Operations, and Engineering teams.
- Oversee the period-end close process.
- Supports the Chief Financial Officer in global projects.
**Experience**:
- Recognized professional accounting designation CPA (CA, CGA, CMA).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience working in industry is mandatory. Ideally exposure to complex and expanding business.
- A talented leader who can develop and mentor their team.
- At least two years of managing period ends within an evolving operation in a high-growth environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented, and skilled in time management.
