**Job Description** Mission**

We are actively seeking certified CoSS agents to join our team at CIMA+. Reporting to the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety Management, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of OHS on site for a major customer based in the town of Gaspé.

As a Prevention Officer / (CoSS), you will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling all activities relating to the prevention of accidents and occupational injuries. You will ensure compliance with the Construction Safety Code and with prevention programs.

**Primary responsibilities**
- Ensure that current OHS legislation and the prime contractor's prevention program are applied to provide a safe environment for workers and the public.
- Perform daily inspections and document observations
- Analyze risk situations, comment on work methods
- Welcoming workers to the site, keeping the welcome register up to date
- Lead and document OHS worksite committees, and participate in safety breaks as required
- Respond to accidents and take appropriate measures to eliminate risks
- Participate in investigations following an event on site
- Accompany the CNESST inspector during his interventions

**Qualifications**
- College diploma (DEC), bachelor's degree or any other relevant OHS-related diploma
- Mandatory certification of prevention officers (CoSS) on construction sites issued by CNESST
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a prevention officer
- Knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations, including the Safety Code for the Construction Industry
- Proficiency in the usual MS Office suite tools (Word, Excel)
- Good writing and interpersonal skills
