Reporting to the Mechanical Electrical Foreperson, the incumbent will be responsible for the day to day operation of the building automation system and all related controls.

**Responsibilities**

▪ Monitor schools on Schneider Electric TAC Vista Workstation and Niagara 4 Supervisor. Check and address all alarms.

▪ Configure changes to database for optimum operation of equipment and for maximum energy conservation.

▪ Troubleshoot problems with Schneider Electric TAC Vista, TAC Xenta controllers and R.P.U.’s as well as Niagara Based ECL/ECB modules, Niagara based JACE controllers and ancillary devices.

▪ Provide technical expertise. Suggest and implement initiatives including Schneider Electric TAC Vista/Niagara based Controls front end integration.

▪ Collaborate with Project Coordinators, Facility Supervisors, Facility Managers, contractors and engineers.

▪ Address all concerns related to the Building Automation System and controls.

▪ Work with maintenance staff and Computerized Maintenance Management System

▪ (CMMS) to correct problems in the field.

▪ Troubleshoot pneumatic controls in cooperation with the field services technicians.

▪ On call duties as assigned.

▪ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

▪ Must be a certified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) or Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) (309A) and be in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario.

▪ or completed a two-year community college program certificate or diploma in building automation or a recognized equivalent.

▪ Minimum 3-years’ experience in building automation and related controls is required.

▪ Must show ability to troubleshoot control systems.

▪ Must have strong electrical and computer skills.

▪ Experience in boiler and HVAC equipment controls, pneumatic control systems, variable frequency drives and electronic controls is required

▪ Proficiency with TAC Menta and Distech Workbench software would be an asset.

▪ Completion of college level building controls course recognized by Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) / Toronto Building Superintendents Association (TBSA), or equivalent training would be an asset.

▪ Must be self-motivated and safety conscious, have excellent interpersonal and strong organizational skills, demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision

▪ Must be able to coordinate controls upgrades with outside vendors.

▪ Demonstrate ability to read plans, specification, control schematics, blueprints and manufacturer's literature.

▪ Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s license with a clear and safe driving record.
