The FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton is an interdisciplinary arts venue that builds community and supports art and culture as part of everyday life in Milton. We host a variety of **shows and events**, **gallery exhibitions** and **art programs and workshops** for individuals of all ages and artistic abilities.

**Position Summary**:
**Major Job Responsibilities**:

- Process ticket orders over the phone and in person
- Process registration for department programs and workshops
- Cash handling, payment processing and balancing daily bank deposits
- Manage routine open and closing procedures for box office
- Re-direct customer inquiries as appropriate to community organizations and businesses
- Keeps up to date on upcoming events and ticketing policies
- Assist customers with inquiries and resolve any issues with top-notch service and professionalism
- Provide support to the Duty Supervisor in the event of an emergency and oversee an evacuation if necessary
- Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Remain flexible while on shift to support other cultural services positions
- Executes other duties as assigned in accordance with department objectives

**Education and Experience**:

- Grade 12 education; Post-secondary school diploma and/or Office Administration certificate or related education is preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a customer service role
- Proficient math skills and experience with cash handling and deposits
- Proficient in Windows based software including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Recreational Management Software Systems Xplor or TixHub is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities while dealing with interruptions
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, strong problem solving skills, mature judgment and confidentiality
- In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to submit a satisfactory Criminal Records Check upon employment

**Hourly Rate: $16.70
