Bridge Saw Operator

**Responsibilities**
- Review and understand the specifications of project drawings (CAD)
- Ensure saw accurately cuts surfaces in accordance with project specifications
- Position slabs and loading material on saw tables using an overhead crane
- Follow production schedule, meet shift targets and also be able to respond to urgent and unplanned production changes
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Inspect equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
- Verify completed pieces against specifications, using squares, callipers, tape measure, etc.
- Ensure material meets project specifications (e.g. correct colour and thickness) and is defect-free (no dents, waves, stains etc.)
- Assist team members with material handling and troubleshooting
- Follow fabrication process, including future process changes to improve overall efficiency
- Report and document material, safety, production, and quality issues
- Follow all health & safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to material handling procedures

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum of one (1) year experience operating a bridge saw, mill saw or similar machinery
- Physically fit and able to manoeuvre at a steady pace, as manual labour will be required
- Self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Willing to learn
- Enjoys working in a team
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Reliable and able to work overtime as required
- Able to understand and perform basic geometry and arithmetic
- Able to understand imperial and metric measurements and conversion
- Certification in Overhead Crane Operation is an asset (training can be provided)
- Strong mechanical aptitude

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
